Jasmine Rae Says 'Everybody Wants To Take My Money'

In the lead-up to her return to the CMC Rocks Queensland for the tenth anniversary festival, three-time ARIA nominated singer/songwriter Jasmine Rae has just released her new single and music video ‘Everybody Wants To Take My Money’ from her latest album, Heartbeat. Produced by Grammy winning producer Luke Wooten (Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley) and written by Jasmine Rae, Bob Moffatt, Clint Moffatt and Shelley Skidmore, ‘Everybody Wants To Take My Money’ received international recognition last year when it was announced as a Grand Finalist in 2016 International Songwriting Competition. “This song is an outlet to vent, let out your frustrations and express yourself,” says Jasmine Rae.

The music video, shot on a beautiful property in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, premiered on CMC last Friday and is the channel’s “Country Pick” this week.

“The character I play in the video is at breaking point after being financially abused by an apparent stranger,” she says. “She’s got to a point of feeling the need to kidnap him, tie him up and make him suffer!” Next month Jasmine Rae will feature in the main stage line-up at CMC Rocks Queensland, which will include international and local stars such as The Dixie Chicks, Little Big Town, Kip Moore and Lee Kernaghan. She has performed at the festival many times and last appeared there in 2013, for a special performance with US artist Kellie Pickler. CMC Rocks has been such a big and important part of my career since it began, so it’s so exciting to be performing at the 10th Anniversary festival,” says Jasmine Rae. It was also recently announced that Jasmine Rae has been nominated for Female Artist of the Year and Australian Video of the Year (for ‘When I Found You’) for the upcoming CMC Music Awards on March 23.
